Christmas trees are not just symbols of peace and steadfastness – they are also an active part of the ecological balance. With Babilon, we offer an alternative that not only looks beautiful but can also be chosen with a clear conscience.
A study by the Ellipsos Institute (2009) shows that natural Christmas trees have an almost neutral CO2 balance (-0.5 to 3 kg), while plastic trees have around 48 kg. Positive effects such as the subsequent wood recycling of the natural tree were not taken into account.

Our vision is a Christmas tree production that not only causes as little damage as possible to nature, but also actively gives something back. To achieve this, we rely on sustainable cultivation methods, a closed resource cycle and the avoidance of unnecessary chemicals. Every tree sold represents a commitment: we plant a new one – directly on our own land in the Sauerland.
This circular economy not only creates new habitats for plants and animals but also leads to a measurable improvement in the CO₂ balance. One hectare of Christmas trees binds 145 tons of CO₂ while simultaneously producing up to 105 tons of oxygen. Our company, therefore, binds 21,750 tons of CO₂ in a 10-year growth period and produces 15,750 tons of oxygen.
There are more than 1,000 production companies in Germany. Overall, the natural Christmas tree secures over 10,000 jobs in our country.
Sustainability is not a trend for us, but part of our responsibility. As a producer in the Sauerland, we focus on environmentally friendly cultivation, short distances and a closed cycle: for every tree sold, we plant a new one. Our forests not only provide joy at Christmas, but also vital oxygen and regional added value.

Our trees grow on sustainably managed plantations in the Sauerland region, specifically from the Homert Nature Park – one of Europe’s largest contiguous cultivation regions. Regionality and short delivery routes are an integral part of our environmental commitment.
Our assortment includes Nordmann Firs, Blue Spruces, and Noble Firs, among others, in various sizes and qualities. All trees are freshly cut immediately before shipping.
We establish nearly 10,000 m² of flower meadows or wildflower strips annually. For every tree sold, we plant a new one – an active contribution to climate and soil protection. Independent studies show that our operation produces 15,750 tons of oxygen during a growing season.
Our main customers include nurseries, plant retailers, landscape gardeners, social institutions, small resellers (300–500 trees), and large-scale buyers such as car dealerships or companies that wish to give Christmas trees as gifts to customers or employees.
For commercial orders, our offers generally start from approximately 50 trees. Smaller quantities may be possible upon request, especially for social projects or institutions.
We deliver nationwide in Germany and to neighboring countries – reliably, punctually, and with environmental awareness. We will agree on the exact delivery conditions with you individually.
